Memphis 2024

 

• The American Society of Civil Engineers West TN Branch Younger Members Group is organizing a Canstruction JR competition to be held November 8, 2024 with students' design submissions due October 18, 2024.

 

• Canstruction is a design competition in which teams enter and compete against one another to make the best design out of canned food items.  Visit www.canstruction.com for more details!

 

• After the competition all of the cans used in the designs will be donated to the Tiger Pantry and Mid-South Food Bank to help those most in need.

 

• Our competition is open to elementary, middle, and high school students, with college engineering students and professional engineers serving as mentors and judges.  This is a great way to help encourage K-12 students to consider engineering, while giving back to the community!

 

• This years judging of the canstructure will take place in-person at the University Center Ballroom on the University of Memphis campus. Full sponsorships are available at $400, and half sponsorships at $200 are available.  Sponsorships will be used to help participating schools. All proceeds (canned food and any unspent funds) will be donated to the Mid-South Food Bank.  Please consider sponsoring a team!!!
